Read.Write.Review.Obsess

I am a hopeless romantic who will one day be swept of her feet by a white knight. Until then I will continue to write/read/review about alpha heroes.

The Other Boleyn Girl

The Other Boleyn Girl - Philippa Gregory

The story of Anne Boleyn has been told so many times, in many different ways. The story is legendary. One man's ambition to have a son and one women's ambition to haves kingdom. This story takes the point of view of Mary Boleyn, Anne's sister.

I'm a fan of the film, and this was partly the reason why I read this book. For me, the film and the book are nothing alike. The film focuses on Mary's love for Henry, the relationship between the sisters and the ambition of her family. The book however for me was so much better. Mary is a gentle soul, she is obedient, a dutiful daughter. She does everything she is told to do. The film doesn't portray this a strongly. Also the film doesn't show her love for William Stafford, and it doesn't show the level of Anne's vindictiveness - talk about giving the Hollywood treatment

Every page of Gregory's novel is engaging and beautiful. Sheer delight to read.

Night Play

Night Play - Sherrilyn Kenyon I loved this Book. I'm a huge fan of the shifter Genre and this did not disappoint. probably one of my favorites out if the Dark hunter Series. I loved the return of Amanda and Kyrian and of course there baby Marisa. Overall one of the most humorous of the Dark Hunter Series. Marked as a Favourite...

Stolen: A Letter to My Captor

Stolen: A Letter to My Captor - Lucy Christopher Lately, I've been reading British YA books, He's after me by Chris Higgins, You against me by Jenny Downham, Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma and I've found they always have so much more than American YA books. Everything seems much more real. I don't think this is because I'm British, I think there is something more gritty about it. Nothing get's held back. they swear, drink have sex, and bad things happen and they never get the Hollywood ending. They get a normal ending. A real one.

This book gave me a few hours of nail biting adventure. Even though Ty, was the Bad guy, I couldn't help but wish that Gemma would reach out and comfort him, or be at least a bit nicer. I know I probably sound like I had Stockholm Syndrome, but i think that's what made this unique.

A great read..

Kiss of the Silver Wolf

Kiss of the Silver Wolf - Sharon Buchbinder When tragedy strikes and Charlene's parents are killed, she is to become a soul parent to her disabled brother. whilst this in itself is a huge responsibility, more things happen to her that turns her world upside down. Things are right in Eden, despite the name and Charlene will do everything to uncover the truth. Zach is a super hot male werewolf and instantly knows she's his mate..

This story had a lot of suspense and danger lurking and was surprising eerie at times. I hated not being able to know the answers to my questions straight away but that's because I'm impatient, nothing to do with the book.

Overall a good quick read and a great addition to my collection...

Fury

Fury - Laurann Dohner This book consumed my free time till it was finished. I really did want to call in sick. An interesting concept and I enjoyed the action packed story line. Added to my favorites...

Wilder's Mate

Wilder's Mate - Moira Rogers I Like this story. I liked the cowboy element. at times it felt like something from the Tv Show Firefly. A great read unlike anything I have ever read.

Forbidden

Forbidden - Tabitha Suzuma This book will always haunt me. A terrifing book that screams this is SO wrong. Everything about this book was wrong, but I can't help thinking it was so right. The characters are believable and the emotions felt by Lochan and Maya were so intense. I am truly in awe of this book. I had my misconceptions .. i immediatley thought..... incest.... gross!!!! But this book is beautiful and it had me laughing and crying all the way through. my new favourite... I have actually learnt a lesson... dont judge the book by the blurb..

Incest is wrong, just in case you think I'm perverted, but this book.....wow!!!

Sabine

Sabine - Moira Rogers I love Historical Romances and i love werewolves.... perfect combo.. wished it could have been longer

A Wolf's Eyes

A Wolf's Eyes - Emma Sinclair Synopsis: Jane Applebottom is a 30 year old virgin who owns a paranormal book shop. One day, in walks Kali ( a vampire) and Van ( a Werewolf) looking for a book on how to kill werewolves. Jane having had a previous encounter with Van in a mirror is attracted, however being a plus sized women, and him being a lean, mean werewolf causes a few doubts for her. They hit it off, stop off for dinner and then back to her place. Then because van being a werewolf of substance Jane ends up in danger because of him and they stay locked up in a house for two weeks.

Although I suck at summarys I really enjoyed this story. it was fun and light at time and other time you just wanted to kill the people in it.

Hoping there maybe a sequel coming soon... maybe Kali and Adian.

Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #5)

Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #5) - Sherrilyn Kenyon I am falling in love with Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. Especially the Dark-Hunter series. This story is no exception. I am in love wulf. What I really love about her books are the historical element. Jullian: big greek hero. Talon: celtic warrior. Wulf: the big Viking, and Zarek the Greek/Roman bastard. This story is no exception. Another great story.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - J.K. Rowling, Mary GrandPré In spite of everythingb, in spite of the dark and twisting path he saw stretching ahead for himself, in spite of the final meeting with voldemort he knew must come, whether in a month, in a yr=ear or ten, he felt his heart lift at the thought that there was still one last golden day of peace left to enjoy with ron and hermione.

Practical Magic

Practical Magic - Alice Hoffman I have seen the film and I was a huge fan of it. I had read the reviews and knew that it was nothing like the movie, but i thought I'd give it a shot.

Well, I loved it. I wanted a witchey book to kick start October and I got it. I like the gritty side of this book, it doesn't have the Hollywood makeover the film did, but that i think made it feel more real.

recommend to all!!!

Primal Bonds (Shifters Unbound, Book 2)

Primal Bonds (Shifters Unbound, Book 2) - Jennifer Ashley The second in the series brings Andrea Gray to shifter town to find a mate in order to stay, but her past undoubtedly brings some issues. Sean is the guardian with a big sword - no pun intended. his job is demanding so the need for a mate is strong.

I think the world that Jennifer Ashley creates is so original. I like that the fact the world knows about shifters and have since collared them in order to control them. a unique way of looking at things.I like the fae aspect as well. especially when Andrea gets caught in the middle.

A Great story for my shifter collection...

Dragonswan

Dragonswan - Sherrilyn Kenyon I read this before I read any of the Dark Hunter Series. This really introduces me to Sherrilyn Kenyon. Whilst I was a little confused about what was going on, it was an very enjoyable story.

Like with all short stories I wanted to read more so that the characters could be more developed, but what can you expect for a novella.

enjoyable and would read again....

Linger

Linger - Maggie Stiefvater Wow!!!

My Love Lies Bleeding

My Love Lies Bleeding - Alyxandra Harvey so far i love this book!!!!
